Faith Formation
Jesus commanded his disciples to “Go,
therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded
you.” (Matthew 28:19-20) Throughout our lives we continuously
grow into the life we have been freely given through Baptism.
The church fulfills its pastoral mandate by providing opportunities
for growth in faith, love and knowledge for all its members.
The name given to this totality of the Church’s efforts
to foster the life of Gospel discipleship is catechesis.
The responsibility for nurturing the faith life
of our Holy Spirit parish family is shared by our parish staff,
our families and our total community:
- Our liturgical celebrations are a sacred
and vital place of formation. At the Eucharistic table and
in the celebrations of other sacraments, we experience what
we celebrate.
- The primary educators of children are our
parents. Parents receive assistance in fulfilling this obligation
through parent education
opportunities.
- We witness to the ministry and compassion
of Jesus through our life of service and reaching
out to those in need.
- Finally, we provide more formal opportunities
for deepening faith through our Faith Formation Programs:
