Parish Staff

The staff of Holy Spirit Parish is committed to providing spiritual support and opportunities for us to fulfill our mission as a parish.

 

Our Pastor

We welcome Father Dan Looney, our new pastor. Fr. DAn was born in 1947, the second of five siblings in Killarney Southwest Ireland. After high school, he went to seminary in Rome, Italy, attending the University of the Lateran while staying at Irish College. Upon completion of his training, he was ordained to priesthood at the Cathedral in his hometown, Killarney, on July 4th, 1971. That October, he arrived in Sacramento and was assigned Associate Pastor at All Hallows Church. After two years, he was assigned to St. Vincent Parish in Vallejo from 1973-78 and then to St. Anthony Parish in Sacramento from 1978-1983. Bishop Francis A. Quinn then appointed him to study at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, 1983-1987, graduating with the Pontifical Degree-Licentiate in Sacred Scripture.

On returning in the spring of 1987, he was appointed Associate Director of Continuing Education and asked to direct the RENEW process for the Diocese of Sacramento and was assigned as Pastor of St. Anne Parish.  He has served as Pastor of St. James Parish in Davis from 1994-2007 and St. Joseph Parish in Vacaville from 2007 until now.   Fr. Dan is well known to some of our parish members who he baptized and whose marriages he performed.   Welcome, Father, may your time with us be blest!!

Our Priest in Residence

We are delighted to welcome Father Timothy Nondorf as a member of our parish family. Father serves as secretary to Bishop Jamie Soto and is in residence here. Father will be a regular presider at our Sunday liturgies, assist with some of our adult education processes and be an active participant in our parish as his time and duties permit.

Our Pastoral Associate

Sister Katherine Doyle, RSM is our pastoral associate and parish director of adult faith formation. Sister is a Sister of Mercy, ministering in the Sacramento diocese for over forty years. She provides for a variety of adult programs, resources our school and CFF faculty, facilitates ministry training and our enrichment segments of the website.

Our Parish School Principal

The Principal of our parish school is Frances Wisei. Mrs. Wise come to us from John Paul II Elementary School. In addition to great enthusiasm, faith and energy, Mrs. Wise brings many years of experience to her duties as well as a commitment to providing students with both excellence in education and a strong foundation in their Catholic identity.

Our Directors of Children’s Catholic Faith Formation (CFF)

Celeste Haarmeyer, a teacher by profession, is our Director of Children’s Faith Formation. Celeste oversees our CFF program for grades K-8 as well as providing assistance to our Sunday Pre-school program and Children’s Liturgy of the Word.

Our Youth Minister

Danny Patterson is our youth minister. He brings a rich experience of teaching and youth companioning to our program. As a father and catechist, he is committed tof helping adolescentss grow in faith while experiencing church as a community of love and service

Our RCIA Coordinator

Bill White is our parish coordinator of the RCIA, the process through which persons wishing to be baptized enter into the Catholic community. Bill is joined by a team of volunteer catechists and sponsors who accompany our catechumens through this journey. If you are interesting in exploring becoming a Catholic, contact Bill or our parish rectory.
